Beata Stelmach President PZL-Świdnik & SVP Leonardo Helicopters

Beata Stelmach started her professional career in 1991, being involved for many years with the newly created, at that time, capital market.

Initially employed at the Polish Securities & Exchange Commission, she then held the position of the Director of the Secretariat of the Commission, also serving as the Commission's Spokesperson. Her responsibilities included cooperation on the forum of the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO), where she chaired the Working Group on Supervision and Information Exchange. In the years 1994-1999 she sat on the Examination Commission for Securities Brokers.

She participated in the negotiations for Poland's accession to the OECD and the EU.

As a consultant of the World Bank, she participated in programs for the development of the capital market of Ukraine (1996) and Russia (1997).

In the years 2000-2001 she held the position of the President of the Management Board of Warszawska Giełda Towarowa SA. In 2002 - 2011 she sat in the authorities of entities listed on the stock exchange, including Prokom Software SA or MCI Management SA. She was the president of MCI TFI, an association operating on the PE/VC market.

In 2006 - 2008 she was the President of the Polish Association of Listed Companies (SEG), she also sat on the boards of the European Association of Listed Companies (EuropeanIssuers), representing the interests of the business entities environment, in particular listed companies, taking care of the regulation level, initiating legal solutions regarding the capital market as well as high standards applicable among participants of the regulated market.

In May 2011, Prime Minister Donald Tusk appointed her as the Undersecretary of State in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where she was responsible for global economic policy and the promotion of Poland.

In 2013 - 2018 she was the President and General Director in General Electric, responsible for Poland and the Baltic States. She sat on the supervisory boards, among others Bank BPH SA, or HSBC Bank Polski SA.

Currently, she is a member of the Leonardo Helicopters structure as a Senior Vice President responsible for Poland, at the same time being the President of the Management Board of PZL Świdnik SA.

She is a volunteer member of the management board of the Lewiatan Confederation as the vice-president.

She graduated from the Finance and Statistics Department of SGPiS (currently SGH), as well as Calgary University (MBA) and INSEAD (MBA). She is fluent in English and Russian.

President of Poland, Bronisław Komorowski awarded her with the Knight's Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta.

Married, has a son Michał.
